Animation Club
Today I documented my eleven year old niece’s after school Animation Club. The members of the club will be learning how to animate the mnemonic devices (a learning technique that aids memory) that they have been learning during the school day. This came about because at my niece’s school, experiential learning is king, and one of her classmate’s mother is an animation instructor at Maryland Institue College of Art (MICA). The plan is this; each week for six weeks, a group of eight young women are paired up with students from MICA to learn how to brainstorm ideas, create a storyboard, and then animate their creations.
